The Data Architect defines the transition from the existing data architecture to the target-state architecture. The role ensures that the future platform reduces complexity, improves governance, supports scalability, and enables cost optimization.
What you’ll do
Assess the existing architecture across source systems, ODS, DWH, staging, ETL, MDM, DQ, BI, metadata, and governance layers.
Identify current-state issues such as duplication, technical debt, high licensing dependency, data movement inefficiencies, and governance gaps.
Define the target data architecture across lakehouse, DWH, semantic layer, governance, MDM, metadata, BI, and AI-ready data services.
Define coexistence architecture between current and target platforms during migration.
Define ingestion patterns including batch, CDC, streaming, APIs, and file-based ingestion.
Review Oracle, GoldenGate, Informatica, MDM, DQ, EDC/Axon, and BI platform dependencies.
Define architecture standards for data modeling, security, metadata, lineage, data quality, and data lifecycle.
Guide technology selection and licensing optimization.
Review and approve data models, integration designs, ETL/ELT designs, and BI semantic models.
Ensure target architecture supports regulatory reporting, enterprise analytics, and future AI/LLM use cases.
Work with the Data Architect, Technical Data Lead, Business Analysts, ETL Developers, BI Developers, Platform Admin, and business stakeholders.
Support architecture transition activities by ensuring that current-state logic is understood before it is migrated, simplified, or retired.
What you’ll bring
Strong experience in enterprise data architecture and data platform modernization.
Deep knowledge of ODS, DWH, lakehouse, data marts, semantic layers, BI, MDM, and governance.
Experience with Oracle, Informatica, GoldenGate, Power BI, MDM, DQ, EDC/Axon, or similar platforms.
Experience with cloud/lakehouse platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong understanding of CDC, ETL/ELT, streaming, metadata, lineage, and security.
Ability to communicate architecture decisions to executives, architects, and delivery teams.
