IOS Lead Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced iOS Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will take ownership of the architecture, design, and development of iOS applications, while guiding a team of engineers to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to define technical direction, drive innovation, and ensure seamless delivery of exceptional user experiences that meet both business and customer needs. As the iOS Lead, you will act as a technical leader and mentor, setting coding standards, reviewing implementations, and fostering a culture of quality, learning, and continuous improvement within the iOS team.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of advanced iOS applications.
• Define the technical roadmap for iOS projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative features.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior and junior iOS developers.
• Conduct architecture reviews and enforce coding best practices, design patterns, and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, optimize app performance, and oversee quality assurance of iOS deliverables.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging iOS technologies, frameworks, and tools to maintain a competitive edge.
• Drive agile development practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management.
• Act as the primary technical contact for iOS-related discussions, both internally and with stakeholders.
• Ensure seamless integration of iOS apps with backend systems, APIs, and third-party services.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of professional iOS development experience, including at least 2+ years in a lead/architect role.
• Expert-level proficiency in Swift and Objective-C.
• Strong expertise in UIKit, Core Data, Core Animation, and other major iOS frameworks.
• Proven experience in architecting and deploying complex, large-scale iOS applications.
• Solid understanding of mobile design patterns, UI/UX best practices, and Apple’s HIG (Human Interface Guidelines).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management.
• Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Firebase) and mobile analytics tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on coding with strategic leadership.
